| Current Services offered:
BEDS Homeless Hotline:
The BEDS Program is the central point of contact for homeless people in Broward County. The program provides for a daily bed count at all major shelters and a computerized client tracking system. These services are critical to helping homeless individuals and families reach the ultimate goal of self-sufficiency. Instead of walking, or calling around the community, a hungry, homeless individual or family need only call one number:
954-792-BEDS OR 1-877-524-BEDS.
View program brochure.
Community Based Shelter Program:
Families who are homeless are temporarily housed with faith based organizations through out
Broward
County
. They will remain with the community organization until shelter space becomes available for them. The BEDS Line will be working with the CBS Program to coordinate the movement of families into and out of the community organizations. View program brochure.
Transportation Program:
Supported by a grant from the Department of Children and Famililes, the Coalition is able to obtain and distribute no cost bus passes to homeless service providers who participate in the Continuum of Care for their clients to attend job interviews, medical appointments and training classes.
Contact our Director of Administration for additional information.
Homelessness 101:
Our goal is to train law enforcement, the faith community, hospital staff, and anyone else who comes into contact with homeless people. The entire Fort Lauderdale Police Department has been trained; currently we are working with Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Faith Community. This program has exceeded all outcomes as identified by the A.D. Henderson Foundation. View brochure.
Homeless Services Directory:
Our goal is to provide information on homeless services available in
Broward

. Thousands of Directories have been distributed and the Directory is on its third edition.
Homeless Advocacy:
Members and staff work diligently to identify barriers to self-sufficiency and causes of homelessness and then change those circumstances when possible.
Homeless Survey:

Membership Support:
The Coalition hosts bimonthly membership meetings, produces “The Homeless Report” a newsletter which links members together and offers a Broadcast FAX and Email system that keeps members notified of time-sensitive materials.
Additional Programs:
